What We Do

We’re a marketing software company that serves small business owners, primarily financial advisors, and insurance agents. About 40,000 small businesses use our tools to build websites and send out our content. Generally, these businesses don’t have marketing departments but are growth-minded enough to know they need to market themselves.

We help them do just that. We work together to create beautiful website designs, automated marketing tools, and award-winning educational content for them. The end goal is to help them build better relationships with their clients with less hands-on effort.

Compensation This position offers $100,000-$125,000 per year; there is also an annual bonus opportunity as long as company performance metrics are met.

Primary Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Product Leadership and Technical Understanding: You're not afraid of learning technical concepts so you can effectively communicate with stakeholders. Focus on providing leadership and clear direction to the engineering team, ensuring alignment without requiring deep technical expertise.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with the engineering team, understanding when to step in and provide direction versus when to give the team space. Lead and motivate a team of engineers who are working to understand and modernize the existing product.
  • Customer Insights and Product Strategy: Conduct customer interviews, gather feedback, and use insights to guide the product roadmap, ensuring we align with user needs and business goals. Be proactive in discovering new customer pain points and opportunities to enhance user experience.
  • Crisis Management and Decision-Making: Handle complex, high-pressure situations effectively by supporting the team, fostering collaboration, and making critical decisions to keep the product and team on track.
  • Product Execution: Manage the execution-focused Product Owner and align with engineering to ensure product roadmap execution is timely and meets company standards. Embrace an agile 'test, learn, and iterate' approach to drive development with a strong bias toward action.
  • Feature Development & Innovation: Identify and drive new features, ensuring they align with both business goals and technical feasibility.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep both internal and external stakeholders informed of progress, milestones, and challenges, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Access to a private & secure workspace, free from distractions

  • An internet connection with speeds of 5 Megabits down / 3 Megabits up (5mbps/3mbps)

Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Experience: Ability to understand technical concepts around enterprise software and text messaging systems is important, the role does not require direct technical contribution or code review. Strong collaboration with engineering teams is essential.
  • Product Management Expertise: At least five years of product management experience, with experience leading products through periods of high growth and change. Experience in navigating legacy products or similar challenging environments is a plus.
  • Crisis Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments.
  • Team Management: Experience working cross-functionally with engineering teams, and motivating individuals in chaotic situations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate product direction, challenges, and decisions to a wide range of stakeholders, including engineers, customers, and executives.
  • Telephony or Messaging Experience: Prior experience in the telephony or messaging space is a plus, but not required. What matters most is your willingness to learn quickly.
